ChelmortonChatsworth

Swallow Barn is in Chelmorton, an unspoilt Conservation village situated about 6 miles from Buxton and 8 miles from Bakewell. It is in the ‘White Peak’ part of the Peak District, an area characterised by limestone walls and sparkling rivers. There are footpaths in every direction as well as the new Pennine Bridleway national trail (for mountain bikers and horse riders). The village has a traditional country pub, serving food.
Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, is just 10 miles away, as is Haddon Hall with its rose gardens and medieval tapestries. Bakewell (famous for the Bakewell Pudding) has interesting shops and a weekly Monday market and the spa town of Buxton (6 miles away) is renowned for its Opera House and festivals.
