The Manifold Way, sometimes called the Manifold Track or Manifold Trail follows the valleys of the River Hamps and Manifold. The surface is tarmacked for most of its length, the only downside is that it is shared with cars for a short section, including the tunnel.

The cycle hire centre and car park for the Manifold Way is located in the village of Waterhouses behind the Crown Hotel.

The other end of the Manifold Way - Hulme End. The car park is near to the station building which houses a visitor shop and toilets.

The Manifold Way

The Manifold way is also called the Manifold track or the Manifold trail. It follows the line of the defunct Leek and Manifold Valley Light Railway which was in operation from 1906 to 1937. This cycling trail follows the valleys of the river Hamps and Manifold. Points of interest include the Ecton Mines, Thor's Cave, Wettom Mill and Beeston Tor, a crag used for climbing.
