A Taste of the
Peak District
Peak District, Derbyshire residential courses and leisure breaks, holidays for artists and painters …
The countryside of Derbyshire, particularly the area now designated as the Peak District National Park, has inspired generations of artists.
With many establishments offering artists courses and other leisure breaks, it can be a difficult thing to choose a course - perhaps a case of too much choice.
Let Skylark Holidays solve your dilemma! Based near to Sutton on the Hill in the south of Derbyshire, within easy reach of Derby, Burton and Ashbourne and close to the Peak District and the National Forest, our residential painting courses explore the changing quality of light in the Derbyshire countryside using watercolours, enabling you to make the best use of these qualities and will help you to refine a keen sense of observation that will enrich both your enjoyment of painting and your appreciation of the countryside. Or if you are a floral artist, try the watercolour floral art course. During this course, you will learn the basic techniques needed to paint botanical subjects and composition, the tonal range, choosing palette of colour and brush strokes. Attention will be given to general drawing skills and to the use of water colours whilst encouraging you to develop your own style.
