Cycling
in the Peak District: Off Road Trails and Quiet Lanes
The Peak District (AA 40 Pub Walks & Cycle Rides)
* Opening days vary from centre to centre so it is best to ring them before
your visit. Opening times are from 9.30 am to 6 pm (or dusk if that comes
earlier).
* The centres recommend that you arrive early and telephone in advance in
order to avoid disappointment. Bookings for 10 or more bikes needs to be
done in
advance and will attract a 10% discount except July, August, Sundays and
bank holidays.
* Bikes are replaced every year and ex-hire bike sales take place throughout
the year. Some centres have special sales at the end of the season.
* Helmet loan is free, subject to stock availability.
* Most centres have some bikes that are suitable for use by people with disabilities
and some centres have ‘Wheels for all’ hand cranked tricycles
available plus battery powered mobility scooters.
* You will need to pay a deposit and provide proof of identity such as driving
license or a credit card.
* Trails are busy at certain times and cyclists are asked to show consideration
for other users.

- Hayfield (Sett Valley Trail) - the cycle hire centre here has now been closed, we have included it for information just in case you are trying to find out about it.
- Middleton Top (High Peak Trail)
- Parsley Hay (High Peak and Tissington Trails)
- Waterhouses (Manifold Way)
There is also Brown End Farm at Waterhouses, the have a sign
outside on the main road so just go to waterhouses and you should find it
easily!
