The Holmes Barn

The Holmes Barn is a large holiday cottage close to Buxton, giving you convenient access to the Peak District. It is situated in about 10 acres of grounds and offers high standard, comfortable accommodation for large groups up to 17. Perfect for a family get-together. The property is no-smoking and well behaved pets are welcome, you can even bring your horse as livery facilities are available.

The villages of Tideswell, with its amazing church, and Bradwell are about 10 mins drive where you can find pubs and opportunities for dining out. It is only a short drive into the famed spa town of Buxton, whilst it will take you only about an hour to cross the Peak District to reach Sheffield. To the north, Manchester is easily accessible.

 

The accommodation is joined to the family home, a traditional Derbyshire Stone Long House and comprises of a large ground floor open plan design lounge and downstairs cloakroom, kitchen and dining area. Upstairs are 4 bedrooms and two “Jack & Jill” shower rooms. There is secure storage is available for wet weather gear, boots.  There is also on site storage large enough for bikes, climbing equipment, hang gliders etc. In the dining area there is a large rustic farmhouse table which extends to easily seat 18 people, in the living area there is a colour TV with DVD/video (small selection available) also radio/CD player, and free wireless internet access (with your own laptop).  There are ground floor sleeping facilities if required incorporating a private area with a bed settee, room for clothes storage and access to the downstairs cloakroom.

 

Bedrooms 1 & 2 have shared access to the first bathroom.
Bedroom 1 comprises - 2 single beds & 1 adult bunk bed
Bedroom 2 comprises - 2 adult bunk beds
The shared bathroom is fully tiled and has quadrant shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.

Bedrooms 3 & 4 have shared access to the second bathroom.
Bedroom 3 comprises - 1 adult bunk bed & 1 single bed
Bedroom 4 comprises -2 single beds & 1 adult bunk bed
The shared bathroom is fully tiled and has quadrant shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.
