How Hydroactive Treasure Hunts Work

Each team has their own treasure hunt booklet to complete during the day. These contain traditional treasure hunting tasks – such as answering cryptic and easier questions, solving puzzles and acquiring unusual information. You must also orientate your team around the city or countryside using a map. For extra points teams must also take photographs of specific subjects and local landmarks - each team is provided with a Polaroid camera. There are always too many clues and tasks to do in the time available, this is where the planning and decision making comes in. This means teams must select the most rewarding challenges and the most efficient route to gain optimum points. Heavy penalties are handed out for late arrival back at base so the winning team will have shown flexibility as well as good planning in order to meet the deadlines. Excuses such as "we had a flat tyre and the spare was also flat" will not help!
